Getting started with Pokémon Indigo

Q. What is Pokémon Indigo?

A. Pokémon Indigo is a free online game that allows you to catch, trade and battle with the famous Nintendo's Pokémon creatures.

Q. Is it an exact copy of the original Pokémon game?

A. No. Pokémon Indigo is very different. You can found different places that any of the original Nintendo Pokémon games, and I have made some changes over some Pokémon evolve ways, levels, skills and item effects. I did that just to make the game more "server resources light" and faster for all the players. By the way, I'll keep the game as most closer to the original game as possible.

Q. Can I catch all the 493 Pokémon?

A. Well, most of them are in a random way throughout all Indigo places. Also you can found wild Pokémon over any type of ground. However, it's not easy to find out special Pokémon like Mew or shiny Pokémon. You can move over the maps for hours until found one of them.

Q. Your game looks similar to Pokémon Crater or Pokémon Negro

I've been a player of both Pokémon Crater and Pokémon Negro for some months. I love both games but I was with the idea of a Pokémon Game since a long time ago. It's not my intention to copy another Pokémon Online game (such as Pokémon Crater or Pokémon Negro), I just want to develop my game with my own features. And if some graphic icons looks equal than either of those games is just because I think we're all using the same official game sprite tiles.

Q. Are you affiliated with Nintendo?

A. Not at all. I'm just a Pokémon fan (trying to show that I'm the biggest one with this game :P).

Q. Do I have to pay to use it?

A. Of course not, it's free and it will be free forever. I swear you :). I use absolutely all donations and ads earnings to pay the servers that Pokémon Indigo uses for run.

Q. Ok so what do I have to do if I want to play?

A. First of all you need to register, so create your free account today! After you've validated your account, just login and start the game.

Q. Do I have to download something to play the game?

A. No. Pokémon Indigo was created to be played online and without remote files. I mean, game files, because you need to have an Internet connection and browser to play.

Q. What are the system requirements?

A. I recommend you at least a 128 Kb. Internet speed connection and Firefox 2.0 or latest.

Q. Why some graphics looks sooo ugly in my browser?

A. You are using Internet Explorer 6 for sure. IE6 have a big issue with PNG graphic files, and most times you'll see problems with the layout. I highly suggest you to upgrade to Internet Explorer 7, or even better! download Firefox for free and you will see smoother and cute images.

Q. How can I catch a Pokémon?

A. After all you need to have at least one Ball (PokéBall, UltraBall, whatever...). So go to any map and search for a wild Pokémon. Start a battle against him. Now you can choose the "Use Item" button and select a Ball from the drop down menu. Once you drop the ball, you can catch the Pokémon or miss the ball. Always be sure to weak your rival or sleep him so you'll get better chances to got him.

Q. How can I evolve my Pokémon?

A. In Pokémon Indigo your Pokémon doesn't evolve automatically (except by trade). If you want to know if your Pokémon is allowed to evolve, go to Setup Team, search for the whole Pokémon list and check over the Pokémon's details box if there's an evolution available. If so, just click on the link to evolve them.
